Finding the Gaps, Learning the Industry & My First Marketing Hiccup
No Shortcuts. Just Execution. Follow the Real Journey of Building from Scratch.
Every day, this challenge pushes me to think bigger, move faster, and adapt on the fly.
Right now, my focus is finding the missing link in the fitness and training industry. Anyone can offer personal training—but what’s the gap that no one is filling? Where can I create real impact? That’s the differentiator.
So while I continue to market, I’m going deep into research and immersing myself in the industry.
What I Did Today:
✅ Dove Deeper Into Industry Gaps – What’s missing? What’s underserved? I’m digging into client pain points, industry trends, and overlooked opportunities to find the one thing that will set my business apart.
✅ Engaged in Online Communities – I’ve joined fitness and training groups on social media and started engaging. Not spamming. Not pitching. Just providing value. Answering questions, giving insights, and getting to know my potential clients. Building relationships is the long game.
✅ Connected with Industry Experts – If I want to be the best, I need to learn from the best. I reached out to competitors, CrossFit athletes, endurance runners, and bodybuilders to gain firsthand insight into different aspects of the fitness industry. The more I learn, the better I can serve my clients.
✅ Considering Entering a Competition – If I really want to understand the industry at every level, I need to experience it firsthand. What better way than to push myself into a competition?
It will give me a deep understanding of the challenges, highs, and lows of those who commit at this level.
It will force me to push my body and mind harder than ever before.
And most importantly, it will teach me more about myself, the industry, and how I can help others.
I have the team and resources to do this. Now, it’s just about making the commitment.
✅ Continued Local Marketing – After distributing 400 flyers residentially yesterday, I got a call from the post office today. Apparently, it’s a federal offense to put anything in or on a mailbox without postage. 😳
So… lesson learned.
Flyers CAN go in paper boxes.
Flyers CAN go on doors.
Soliciting vs. Canvassing? There’s a legal difference, and now I know it.
I had no idea this was a thing, but that’s part of the process—learn, adapt, and move forward. I’m now looking into new, legal ways to get my message out locally.
The Takeaway: Every Hiccup is a Lesson
If you’re afraid to make mistakes, you’ll never get anywhere. Every setback teaches you how to move smarter.
💥 I won’t let roadblocks slow me down—I’ll find a way around them.
💥 I won’t copy what’s already out there—I’ll create something better.
💥 I won’t just train people—I’ll change the way they approach fitness.
This is about impact. It’s about leveraging my skills, differentiating, and building something that lasts.
