Day 11: The Shift, The Grind & Beating Impostor Syndrome

Eleven days in. No shortcuts. No easy wins. Just consistent execution.

This past week, I pushed myself out of my comfort zone in more ways than one—mentally, physically, and professionally.

One of the biggest shifts? Not talking about my consulting business at a networking event.

I’ve been in those rooms before, but this time was different. Introducing myself as a trainer instead of a consultant felt strange—but it also felt right.

And then, impostor syndrome showed up - or at least attempted to.

That nasty beast tried to rear its head, making me feel like I had to justify myself, prove I belonged, validate my expertise.

But here’s the truth—it was all internal. Not real. Not true.

I’ve coached people through impostor syndrome before. I know its tactics. And instead of letting it steal power from me, I used my own tactics to empower myself.

I didn’t need to justify myself. I needed to own it.

And I did. The result? Real conversations, real interest, and several follow-up meetings now scheduled to discuss Cappell Fitness.

What’s Been Happening Since Day 8:

✅ Attended my first networking event as a trainer – It was odd shifting away from consulting, but it worked. Several follow-up meetings are now scheduled.

✅ Recognized and overcame impostor syndrome in real-time – Instead of justifying, I owned my expertise and positioned myself with confidence.

✅ 400 more flyers distributed—correctly this time – No more mailbox hiccups. This round of residential outreach was done the right way.

✅ Spent a full day learning from another personal trainerSomeone who has been in the game longer is now acting as a mentor. I trained alongside them, observed their approach, and took in everything I could.

✅ Connected with more trainers, analyzed different styles & workouts – Right now, I’m a sponge. Observing. Learning. Studying how the best operate so I can refine my own approach.

✅ Dialed in my competition training – My body is feeling it. This isn't just a fitness challenge—this is a full transformation.

Today’s Plan: More Reps, More Precision

🚀 1. Keep refining my corporate wellness pitch – Several meetings are scheduled. Now it’s time to turn conversations into partnerships.

🚀 2. Continue studying the fitness industry from the inside out – The more I absorb, the better I’ll be. Today, I’m deep-diving into programming, client retention strategies, and long-term fitness coaching models.

🚀 3. Keep the momentum going with local outreach – The flyer campaign worked. Now, I’ll keep layering in more touchpoints to make Cappell Fitness known.

🚀 4. Optimize my own training & recovery – If I’m going to compete at the highest level, my approach has to be as strategic as my business. Fine-tuning my nutrition, my training split, and my recovery process today.

Takeaway: Growth Happens in the Shift

💥 Shifting my identity to “trainer” felt uncomfortable. But that’s how I know it’s right.
💥 Pushing my body harder than ever is exhausting. But that’s how I know it’s working.
💥 Investing in learning from those ahead of me is humbling. But that’s how I’ll get better.

And impostor syndrome? It has no seat at my table.

🔥 This is only Day 11. I’m not waiting for perfect—I’m making moves.
